Abstract:
I will explain how various combinatorial constructions play a role in modular representations
of general linear groups, classical groups, etc. Audience is asssumed to be familiar with some basic
representation theory (over C, say). In that case I will give some elementary definitions. I will definitely define
the basic notions in modular representation theory such as blocks.
